Object Description       New Orleans port scene looking up the Mississippi River across Marigny and the Vieux Carré. The Marigny plantation garden and sawmill are shown with stacked lumber in foreground, and people walking along the streets as well as animals grazing; many ships are docked at the levee and buildings, including the spires of Louis Cathedral, are visible in the background; across the cloudy sky is an eagle with a banner reading, "Under My Wings Every Thing Prospers." American flag flying from one structure probably in honor of the just-completed Louisiana Purchase.
