Biography/History: P. G. T. Beauregard (1818-1893) was a Creole general from Louisiana. He commanded confederate forces at Fort Sumter and First Manassas. After the war, Beauregard was president of the New Orleans, Jackson, Mississippi Railroad and manager of the Louisiana lottery.

LeRoy Pope Walker (February 7, 1817 - August 23, 1884) was the first Confederate States Secretary of War and issued the orders for the firing on Fort Sumter, which began the American Civil War. Resigning within the year, he served briefly as brigadier general in the Confederate States Army, but saw no combat.
Camille de Polignac served in the Crimean War, The United States Civil War, and the Franco-Prussian War. When he died at the age of 81, Polignac was the last-living Confederate major general

José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz Mori (15 September 1830 - 2 July 1915) was a Mexican-American War volunteer, French Intervention hero, and President of Mexico. He ruled from 1876 to 1880 and from 1884 to 1911.
Gabriel Edward Manigault (1833-1899), was educated as a physician and zoologist. He became, in 1873, the curator of the Museum of Natural History at the College of Charleston. During the Civil War, he served as private and adjutant in the 4th South Carolina Cavalry Regiment.
