Artistís Statement
"Weeks after Katrina hit New Orleans, I walked through neighborhoods with nothing on the streets but ruined cars and debris, fractured houses, butchered churches, abandoned stores-void of people! I was burning with inspirations about New Orleans, feelings for my hometown that I have not had so deeply for many years. Before my inspiration is spent, I need to capture my feelings about this Katrina, who ended a life I and thousands of others knew here in New Orleans. But it must not be losing; it should be recovering with renewed wisdom and inspiration." --from a statement written for the 2007 New Orleans Museum of Art exhibition Katrina: Days of Terror, Months of Anguish
