Object Description Brooch worn by the 1897 Queen of the Krewe of Rex, Ethelyn Lallande. The brooch features a central anchor, decorated with rhinestones and green glass inserts. Above the anchor is a rhinestone crown. On each side of the anchor, is a shield shape, also adorned in rhinestones and each with a large, central rhinestone. The brooch is surrounded by a border of alternating rhinestones and green glass inserts; the border swirls and curves around the features of the brooch. The theme that year was "On the Water- Real and Fanciful".
