The 1974 float designs were recycled from 1973, when the Proteus parade was cancelled due to rain; the previous theme was "Tales Sea Shells Tell." The design features a green and gold float with a small conch shell on the front. Behind, are three cameos, a large conch and a box, possibly a jewelry box.
