Object Description Krewe of Rex storage case designed for the crown and jewelry set worn by Alice Rathbone as Queen of Carnival in 1880. The case has a dark purple velvet lining and the Rex coat of arms in gold on the center of the cover and on the inside, in the upper right corner. The case is covered with dark brown leather. There is a metallic design along the edges, and handles on the sides. See 1979.254.1.1-.6 a,b for the contents of the case. The theme that year was "The Four Elements".
