Biography/History: Nancy Ann Proctor Turner (b. 1934) was president of the League of Women Voters of New Orleans from 1979 to 1981. She was also active in the Council for International Visitors of Greater New Orleans and the Japanese Garden Society of New Orleans. In 1957 she married William K. Turner (1933-1994).
Scope and Content: The collection consists of papers associated with Nancy Turner's involvement in several organizations in the New Orleans area. The organizations and related materials are as follows: Foreign Relations Association of New Orleans (approximately 0.75 linear foot, 1985-1999), The Japanese Garden Society of New Orleans (approximately 0.2 linear foot, 1998-2002), National Council for International Visitors (approximately 0.4 linear foot, 1991-1996), Council for International Visitors of Greater New Orleans (approximately 2.5 linear feet, 1992-2004), and League of Women Voters of New Orleans (approximately 4 linear feet, 1962-1981).
