Scope and Content: This collection documents the efforts of the Lake Vista Women's Club, a civic, cultural, and philanthropic organization whose members lived in the Lake Vista subdivision of New Orleans, to restore the site of Fort St. John, referred to as Old Spanish Fort, and have it placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Of note within the collection is the correspondence of Mrs. Victor Schiro on behalf of the effort to restore the fort, as well as a preliminary architectural
plan of the site which was drafted by Waldemar S. Nelson and Company in 1976.
