Biography/History: Marie Althea Finhold (1924-2003) was a longtime employee of New Orleans Public Service, Inc. (NOPSI), for whom she worked as a "conductorette" and "motorette" in 1943 and again from 1967 to 1983. She was sometimes called "The Flying Nun" as she was also a Franciscan Sister who did missionary work in Africa.
Scope and Content: This series consists of photographs of streetcars, trains and buses collected by Marie Finhold. Many of the photographs were taken by Charles Franck, Alfred Bertacci, or someone who worked for the Franck-Bertacci company. Also present are a variety of snapshots of the renovation of Carrollton Station, probably taken by Finhold herself and several photocopies of images. In addition, several of the photographs were originally framed together and are, therefore, foldered together to maintain their original order. Of particular note are several photos of Vivien Leigh on the set of "A Streetcar Named Desire" (folder 700).
Arrangement: This series is arranged chronologically.
Container: Folder 548-1027
